Three consecutive bomb alarms in Transcarpathia
On the morning of August 20 a report was received by the authorities in Berehove that a bomb had been placed in the local Roman Catholic Church.
The news was announced by mayor Zoltán Babják on his official website.
The church had been temporarily closed and authorities had inspected the area.
After Berehove, two more bomb alarms were reported to the authorities on the morning of August 20, the news portal pmg.ua reported.
According to the anonymous reporter, in addition to the Roman Catholic church in Berehove, bombs were also placed in Tyachiv and Solotvyno.
People were evacuated from the locations. Firefighters worked on the site. Police officers temporarily closed the areas. According to the authorities, the notification was not part of the Counter-Terrorism Practice that was conducted in the region.
